Raja Raghuvanshi Murder Mystery

"According to Meghalaya Police, Raja Raghuvanshi, a newlywed from Indore, was allegedly murdered during his honeymoon in the scenic hill state — a chilling crime reportedly orchestrated by his own wife, who is accused of hiring men to carry out the killing."
Raghuvanshi and his wife disappeared on May 23 while vacationing in the picturesque Sohra region of Meghalaya’s East Khasi Hills district. The following day, their scooter was discovered abandoned near a café along the road from Shillong to Sohra, prompting an intensive search operation.
After days of searching, tragedy unfolded on June 2 when Raghuvanshi’s body was recovered from a deep gorge near the scenic Weisawdong Falls. His wife, Sonam, remained missing, setting off a wider investigation.
As the case unfolded, the Meghalaya Police’s Special Investigation Team (SIT), led by a Superintendent of Police and supported by four Deputy Superintendents, made significant breakthroughs. One suspect was apprehended in Uttar Pradesh, while two others were arrested in Indore. In a shocking twist, Sonam later surrendered at the Nandganj police station in Uttar Pradesh and was taken into custody.
According to Meghalaya DGP Nongrang, the arrested men confessed that Sonam had allegedly hired them to murder her husband during their honeymoon.
Uma Raghuvanshi, the grieving mother of Raja Raghuvanshi, has called for the harshest punishment for those responsible for her son’s murder. She questioned Sonam’s actions, saying, "If she truly loved him, she would never have abandoned him to die."
