No More Queues! Aadhaar Services to Be Accessible Remotely by November 2025

Aadhaar Update Made Easy: Major Changes Coming in 2025

Want to register a new home address?Need to update your mobile number in Aadhaar? Or perhaps there’s a spelling error in your name or an incorrect date of birth? Don’t worry—now you can fix it all with just one app! No more long queues or repeated visits to Aadhaar centres. With the new Aadhaar update app, making corrections to your personal details is easier, faster, and right at your fingertips.

In a major move towards digital convenience, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) is set to transform how Aadhaar details are updated. By the end of 2025, most Aadhaar-related services—including changes to personal information like name, address, phone number, and date of birth—will be accessible remotely, eliminating the need for repeated visits to enrollment centres. With data being sourced directly from verified government databases, this streamlined process aims to make Aadhaar updates faster, easier, and more reliable for millions of Indians.

The services that will be available remotely include updating addresses, changing phone numbers, correcting names, and fixing inaccurate birth dates.

By November, the UIDAI is expected to roll out a new system where individuals will only need to visit Aadhaar centres for submitting biometric details like fingerprints and iris scans.

All other personal details—such as address changes—will be automatically retrieved from verified government records, including birth certificates, school-leaving documents, driving licences, passports, PAN cards, PDS, and MNREGA databases.

According to UIDAI, over one lakh machines will be deployed nationwide to support this new system. Around 2,000 of these machines have already been upgraded with the latest technology. Moving forward, individuals will only need to visit Aadhaar centres for biometric data submission—such as fingerprint and iris scans—while all other updates can be conveniently completed from home.

Aadhaar’s New QR Code Feature Puts You in Control of Your Data

The Aadhaar app’s new QR code feature is set to become a powerful tool in safeguarding your identity. Designed to prevent misuse of Aadhaar information, this feature enables secure, consent-based sharing of your details for a variety of purposes—from hotel check-ins to instant ID verification during train travel. With full control in your hands, your data can only be shared when you allow it, ensuring privacy and protection at every step.

Aadhaar to Play Key Role in Preventing Property Fraud

In a move to curb property registration fraud, UIDAI is working to integrate Aadhaar verification into property transactions. By enabling sub-registrars and registrars to authenticate individuals through Aadhaar, the system aims to significantly reduce fraudulent registrations. State governments are being encouraged to adopt this secure verification process for greater transparency and trust in property dealings.

UIDAI Expands Aadhaar Use Across New Sectors for Greater Convenience and Security

In a major step towards enhancing the everyday utility of Aadhaar, UIDAI is now exploring partnerships beyond traditional government services. Collaborations with security agencies, hotels, and other private entities are being considered to integrate Aadhaar in sectors where its use is currently optional.

These efforts aim to boost both security and convenience—making processes like identity verification smoother for businesses while offering a seamless experience to consumers. With such transformative changes underway, UIDAI is set to make Aadhaar management more accessible, efficient, and secure for millions across India.

UIDAI Targets Biometric Backlog: Major Aadhaar Update Push for Children Aged 5–17

UIDAI is teaming up with CBSE and other examination boards to streamline biometric updates for children. These updates are crucial at two key age milestones: between 5–7 years and again between 15–17 years. A nationwide drive is being planned to complete the backlog—covering nearly 8 crore children due for their first biometric update and 10 crore for the second. These efforts aim to ensure that every child’s Aadhaar remains accurate and up-to-date as they grow.
