Khan Sir Defends Wife’s Veiled Look: “It Was Her Dream Since Childhood”

“She Wanted to Stand Out” — Khan Sir Shares the Heartfelt Reason Behind Wife’s Ghoonghat

Khan Sir has responded to the controversy surrounding his wife wearing a veil (ghoonghat) at their wedding reception

Khan Sir operates the Khan GS Research Centre in Patna and also manages a popular YouTube channel under the same name. Currently, the channel boasts 24.7 million subscribers and hosts approximately 400 videos.

Popular educator and YouTuber Khan Sir recently shared the reason behind his wife wearing a red veil (ghoonghat) during one of their wedding ceremonies. Khan Sir, whose real name is reportedly Faisal Khan, tied the knot in a private ceremony in Bihar last month, followed by a grand reception attended by family, friends, and well-wishers.

However, the event sparked online criticism after photos of his wife in a veil went viral, with some social media users questioning the traditional look.

Responding to the controversy in a recent podcast with ANI, Khan Sir clarified that it was entirely his wife's choice to wear the veil. He explained that she wanted to stand out from the crowd and chose the look for that reason.

Khan Sir Breaks Silence on His Secret Wedding Amid India-Pak Tensions

“Got Married Quietly Because…” — Khan Sir Explains the Reason Behind His Low-Key Wedding

Addressing the reason for his private wedding, Khan Sir revealed that it took place during the time of military tensions between India and Pakistan.

In a video circulating on social media, he is heard telling his students, “I didn’t share this with you earlier, but I got married during the war.”

He went on to explain that he initially wanted to postpone the wedding to support the soldiers at the border. “My first instinct was to cancel everything and go help the troops. But everything had already been arranged by my parents, and they were heartbroken at the thought of delaying it,” he said.

“Eventually, I gave in—cursing the sudden attack by Pakistan—and agreed to get married. But I made one condition: no guests would be invited,” he added.

Khan Sir Defends Wife’s Veil Look:“It Was Her Dream”: Khan Sir Reveals Why His Wife Wore a Veil at the Wedding

Khan Sir shared that it was his wife's personal choice to wear the veil at their wedding reception. “She told me it was her childhood dream — that every girl dreams of being a bride in a veil. According to her, a bride stands out and has a unique identity when wearing a veil in a crowd,” he said.

“She felt that since everyone would be dressed up at the reception, the veil would make her look different. I warned her that people might blame me for it, but she insisted, saying, ‘No, it’s my dream since childhood.’ She was quite firm about it, and in the end, I agreed,” he added.

When asked whether the online criticism affected him, Khan Sir responded, “Not at all. We come from a village, and we remain connected to our roots — we can't leave that behind.”
