In his first-ever attempt, Mahesh Kumar from Rajasthan emerged as the NEET 2025 topper with a remarkable score of 686 out of 720.
Born on August 3, 2008, in Hanumangarh district of Rajasthan, Mahesh Kumar had been diligently preparing for the NEET exam at Gurukripa Coaching Institute in Sikar over the past three years. Both of his parents, who serve as Grade III government teachers, played a pivotal role in supporting his academic journey—something Mahesh proudly acknowledges as a key factor in his success.
A consistently high achiever, Mahesh secured 97.17% in his Class 10 examinations and 90.80% in Class 12.
“Initially, I had planned to take up Humanities in Class 11 and prepare for the UPSC exam,” Mahesh revealed. “However, it was my elder sister, Simran, who motivated me to choose Biology and set my sights on NEET instead.”
Now, Mahesh aspires to join AIIMS Delhi and pursue his dream of becoming a surgeon.
When asked about his study routine, Mahesh shared, “I dedicated 6 to 8 hours each day to studying, but I also made sure to balance it with extracurricular activities like playing cricket and watching TV. Taking breaks is essential to avoid burnout. Practicing previous years’ question papers helped me identify common mistakes, and I never hesitated to reach out to my teachers whenever I faced difficulties.”
